A 90-year-old Saudi man remarried recently in Taif to "honor his dying wife's wish," a newspaper reported.

Fatih Al-Thaqafi had initially refused to remarry after his wife died earlier this year following a prolonged illness, but after his daughters and sons insisted he honor their mother's wish, he agreed.

Al-Thaqafi has five daughters and seven sons. After spending months looking for the right bride for their father, his daughters found a childless 53-year-old widow in a remote village who accepted the marriage proposal. Al-Thaqafi paid SR25,000 as mehr (bride price). A large number of relatives and friends attended the marriage ceremony.
