JEDDAH: Arab News, the Middle East’s leading English language daily, is pleased to announce the promotion of Managing Editor Hani Hazaimeh, to Senior Managing Editor, and Siraj Wahab, currently an editor, to Deputy Managing Editor.

Both promotions took place at the papers’s Jeddah offices and are effective as of Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016.

Commenting on the announcement, Editor-in-Chief Faisal J. Abbas said: “On behalf of the entire Arab News editorial team, I would like to congratulate my colleagues, Hazaimeh and Wahab, on this much deserved promotion. We look forward to their continued contribution in streamlining and enhancing our editorial coverage and news team.”

“This falls in line with our goal to prioritize, retain and nurture existing talent as we seek to expand our operations,” he added.

Hazaimeh, a Jordanian national, is a graduate of Defense Language Institute, San Antonio, Texas, and Arab Open University, Amman. Before joining Arab News in 2013, he worked as Senior Reporter at Jordan Times.

Wahab, who joined Arab News in 1998, holds a master’s degree in English literature from Marathwada University, Aurangabad, India. Before joining Arab News, he was chief sub-editor at Bombay Mid-Day.
