The 35th Saudi International Motor show (SIMS), an annual event organized by Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) with the support of Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed, opens at Jeddah Events and Exhibitions Center on Tuesday.
The visitors will have a chance to experience latest car models of leading brands from USA, Europe, Japan, Korea and China, all under one roof allowing the discerning potential buyers to choose their favorite brands.
SIMS’ unique themed zones offer professionals, businessmen, enthusiasts and consumers a relaxed and enjoyable experience as well as enabling them to find exactly what they are looking for. Showcased are the latest vehicles, parts, accessories and equipment.
Major automobile brands, including Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota , Ford, Volkswagen, Al Jomaih Auto, Suzuki, Jeely, Jac motors, Lifan, Isuzu, Foton, BYD and Jamjom Vehicles' latest models of cars, motorcycles, SUVs will be on display. This year, about 60 different companies are participating in the event.
Alongside the show there are attractive features in the form of 4X4 test drive circuit, bike stunt show and a display of modified cars. The target audience of the show is youth who love to drive latest models of expensive cars.
The outdoor areas are customarily transformed into a huge mart for commercial vehicles providing a singular platform for the Kingdom’s transport and logistics industry.
Adding to its unmatched popularity, specifically devised features and themed attractions are introduced every year creating a second to none festival atmosphere for all members of the family.
The show will be preceded by the launch of a number of new models before the official inauguration.
SIMS is the region’s "largest automotive event" that consistently provides the automotive industry with a unique and unrivalled direct marketing opportunity, where exhibitors launch their new models, showcase their latest products and services to a large audience over 100,000 potential customers, Zahoor Siddique, VP, ACE, said.
“SIMS is a one-stop-shop with the latest car models and best accessory supplies on display complemented by major banks participating to help finance purchases. SIMS blends together perfectly the wants of consumers and the marketing needs of the automotive industry to create a talk of the town extravaganza catering for everyone with both the luxurious and the affordable on offer,” he added.
Saudi Arabia’s vehicle sales totaled 759,000 in 2011 and are expected to pass the 1 million per year mark by 2018, he said, adding that around 70 present of the Saudi car buyers are 18 to 29 years old.
The show timings are daily 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., from Tuesday to Saturday.
