KARACHI: Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane slammed actor Shaan Shahid for posting tweets against her.

Mawra wrote an open letter to her fans and to Shaan which she posted on Facebook.

She claimed that Shaan bashed everyone who worked in India and that she has worked very hard to gain the attentions and love of Pakistanis.

“I am not the only one. He has targeted every actor who has ever set foot in India be it Ali Zafar or Javed Sheikh. He needs to get over all of us,” she said.

“You know what Mr. Shan Shahid I will still rise every morning, work as hard, still pursue my dream, still go after what I’d like to achieve and still keep my head high. I don’t need to love/like people like you to be a patriot. My love for my country and my people doesn’t need your approval,” she clarified.

The furor started when Mawra was sent a tweet by someone who questioned her patriotism by asking how she could work in Bollywood when India was making films like ‘Phantom’.

All Mawra said in response was that she would watch the film before commenting and so should everyone else. But all hell broke loose as film actor Shaan soon posted a screenshot of her tweets on his Facebook page calling for a “ban” on the actress.
