In B-town link-ups and break-ups are common. Affairs flare up, then flicker out. Right? Not always.

Sometimes jodis separate forever. Remember the hot couple of the ’90s — Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty. They parted ways on bitter terms, the reason being an alleged two-timing by the Khiladi Kumar. They did not work together again. Of late, there appears to be a twist in this tale.

Guess what? The ‘Khiladi’ star has teamed up on a business note, with his ex-flame’s hubby Raj Kundra. Recently, the trio announced their celebrity-driven home-shopping channel and as far as the Bollywood grapevine is concerned, they are business partners now. Nearly seven years ago, when Shilpa was hosting the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, the two had shared the stage when Akshay was invited to announce the winner. At that time, we noticed the first signs of the ice thawing. Last year, Shilpa had invited his wife Twinkle Khanna to her son’s birthday party.

The curtains rose on another story of unrequited love. A casting coup, of sorts! It’s Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. This star-crossed pair had totally ignored each other after the break-up, and at public events and awards functions, they carefully avoided crossing one another. But now, Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Udta Punjab’ has just gone on the floors, which stars — Kareena Kapoor Khan! This Abhishek Chaubey film deals with drugs in Punjab; the rest is under wraps for now. Kareena is seen wearing a pink salwar-kameez as she was snapped on the sets of ‘Udta Punjab’, and this photograph is making the rounds on Twitter. A little birdie says that Bebo and Sasha may not have scenes together. What happens at the film promo is anyone’s guess! And, wonder of wonders, the buzz is that it was Shahid who had suggested Bebo’s name for the film!

This movie has whipped up a lot of buzz — primarily for the cast. The lead role was first offered to Ayushmann Khurana, who said, “I almost had this opportunity to work with Abhishek Chaubey, as ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ got preponed and I had to shoot ‘Agra Ka Dabra’ next. That didn’t work out, but someday, I would love to work with him.”

On the other hand, there are jodis who come together too — for purely ‘professional’ reasons. Yes, couples are ready to let bygones be bygones and are all set to become a jodi on the silver screen! Yes, a clear divide from ‘reel’ and ‘real’.

Perhaps the shining example of B-town ex-lovers sharing screen space today, is that of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. After ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, they are kicking off another — Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’. After taking a dig at Ranbir on KJo’s talk-show, Deepika seems to have moved on. So, it’s strictly restricted to ‘reel’ life now!

Yet another past jodi is Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, who have teamed up in Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. For this couple, it looks like life has indeed moved on. Anushka is now stumped by cricketer Virat Kohli. A source claimed that Deepika often visits Ranveer on the sets of “Dil Dhadakne Do’. And recently, they were spotted in a cruise-liner. So, Ranveer’s attention is on Deepika Padukone.

Well, in B-town it’s certainly not the norm for an actor to bury the hatchet and move on. There have been celebs moping, crying over split milk. They have gone the extra mile to avoid exes too. But, now it seems coolness rules in B-town. It’s cool to work with your ex…and how!
