DUBAI: President Trump has come under fire from social media users for his golfing habits, particularly the fact that he has been to a golf course nine times since taking office seven weeks ago.
In the past, Trump tweeted heavily about Barack Obama’s love of golf, saying: “We pay for Obama’s travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf.”
The current US president tweeted about Obama’s golfing habits on various occasions.
His past Twitter tirades have led some commenters to label Trump a “hypocrite” due to his frequent visits to golf courses.
“It’s just really really awkward,” British newspaper The Independent said.
