KARACHI: Cricket legend Wasim Akram unveiled his very own fragrance on his 50th birthday. His perfume named 414 Scent of Sultan, (reflecting the number of his test wickets) was launched at a star studded event in Karachi, with guests such as Ayesha Omar, Bushra Ansari and popular cricket commentator Rameez Raja.
Cricket stars from all across the world, including Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Jacques Kallis wished Wasim Akram all the best for his launch through video messages.
Bushra Ansari was the host of the night.
Wasim Akram thanked everyone for their wishes on his birthday. Born on the 3rd of June 1966 in Lahore, he began his cricketing career in the 80s and retired in the year 2003. He remained the ‘King of Swing’ throughout his 19 year long career.
Earlier, he sad life is “exemplary” and that his Australian wife told him the half-century “is the new 40”.
Wasim said he never imagined achieving star status when he took up the game.
“It is a life in which dreams turned into reality. I never imagined this fame and success when I started my career and to have played so much and captained your team winning the World Cup is more than I had dreamed.
