JEDDAH: The Consulate General of India has started an online application system for registration of “Indian Citizenship by Descent.” This may be accessed at the following website: indiancitizenshiponline.nic.in (link on the consulate’s website www.cgijeddah.com), the consulate said in a statement.
To use this application system, an applicant needs to log on to the website and apply online for quick processing. The applicant is required to preserve the MHA File Number (generated automatically after final submission of the online form). The applicant then needs to submit the duly signed/self attested hard copy of the computer-generated application form and supporting documents to the consulate.
In case of any difficulties or details, prospective applicants may contact the consulate.
Meanwhile, the consulate is organizing its annual All India Mushaira on Thursday (Sept. 6) at International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ), Boys Section.
This year, 14 well-known Indian poets have been invited from India. They are Rahat Indori, Raees Ansari, Nawaz Deobandi, Manzar Bhopali, Masrur Abidi, Aslam Farshori, Masroor Abedi, Jarrar Akbarabadi, Rais Nizami, Mahshar Afridi, Sardar Asar, Imran Partap Garhi, Nuzhat Anjum and Saba Balrampuri.
Indian expatriates interested in attending the mushaira may email their requests for invitation cards with name, iqama number and mobile phone number to [email protected] by 1 p.m. Monday (Sept. 3).
The invitation cards will be issued on first-come-first-served basis. A maximum of two persons per application will be entertained. The final list of invitees will be posted on www.cgijeddah.com at 5 p.m. on Sept. 3.
Distribution of invitation cards will take place at the consulate premises, Tahlia Street on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Requests for children below 12 years will not be entertained.
