This is with reference to the report “Man City wraps up Premier League title” (May 12). Football fans in England and elsewhere are almost equally divided in their allegiance to various football clubs in England.

However, Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are on top of the list of favorite clubs. Man City’s 2-0 victory against West Ham made them the English Barclays Premier League champions, with 86 points, while Liverpool finished just 2 points behind with 84 and Chelsea third with 82. Though it was a very close finish, this is Man City’s second Premier title in three years.

An overjoyed manager Manuel Pellegrini promised a new era of success for his club. In the meantime, the Man United fans regretted the showing of their powerful club, which could finish only 7th with just 64 points. They must have missed their “never say die” manager Alex Ferguson, who really brought glory to their club. Anyway, we concede that the best team and the best squad became the rightful champions.

Man City could prove to be the best in the years to come. One must say they still have a long way to go to match the success of Man United.

According to some critics, the rankings of team also reflect the amount of money spent on each team. Despite all this we must appreciate Man City for its performance. Congratulation! Man City, you are the undisputed champions!
