The write-up is in response to the column “Arab spring and downfall of the Brotherhood” by Ali Bluwi. His entire article speaks about “Islamist fascism” which he seemed to have borrowed from the French minister. Regardless of where this concept originated, this is not at all applicable to the ruling parties in Tunisia and Egypt.

The agenda of Muslim Brotherhood is not power; as stated by the writer, but reforms in the country. For this to be possible, there is a need for minimum power, which gives the president the right to remove the remnants of the previous regime.

The new constitution reflects the thoughts and opinions of Muslim Brotherhood in which every existing party is given the freedom of expression and thoughts. The various protest and demonstrations taking place in the streets of Cairo are itself proof to the freedom provided by the government,

Besides, the government too provided the opposition parties an opportunity for discussions, it’s a pity they refused to attend.

As rightly said by the writer, Muslim Brotherhood is now exposed, it is agenda for a new peaceful Egypt along with cooperation with other countries is welcomed by the majority.

The Muslim Brotherhood has very well succeeded as a political party. Despite being suppressed in the previous regime, they have emerged as a well-developed organization. The distinguishing feature of these parties, inspired by the Brotherhood ideology, are that they just don’t confine themselves to speeches and promises, but try their level best to fulfill them in the term provided.
