India has done it again, joining the American bully in harassing and disgracing Sri Lanka. Now it should be very clear to our leaders and all Sri Lankans, to which camp India belongs, that is our enemy camp. Even in defeat we have gained some, we have clearly seen the faces of our enemies and from now on our leaders should be brave enough to plan our future strategies to suit our country and our friends and not our enemies.

As a nation, we must overcome the obsession we have of everything that is Indian, American etc., the Sri Lanka government must take steps to marginalize Indian business ventures and their overall influence in Sri Lanka whilst affording more opportunities to countries like China, Japan, Russia and Pakistan, Qatar, Dubai, Kuwait, Thailand, Philippines, Maldives etc., who always stood and will stand by Sri Lanka in its good times as well as in adversity.

They are the tried and trusted friends of Sri Lanka and not the double-faced countries like India. Also we must not forget that all seven Muslim countries voted for Sri Lanka, even at a time when the Muslims were being harassed somewhat by certain extremist groups in Sri Lanka.

Even those agitations must have been an enemy strategy to divert votes of Muslim countries to our enemy camp.

Even at this late stage, it is still not too late for Sri Lankan leaders to decide the correct path we have to go where international relations are concerned and stop believing that India is our big brother, good neighbor etc.

Our leaders will be either extremely stupid or ignorant or they are too reticent if they continue to make statements like “India is our big brother, our good neighbor, we are not angry with them because we understand their internal political situation which led to their decision to vote against us.” — Stanley A.
