We wish all the best to Delhi’s Chief Minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal. It is heartening to note that the people of Delhi voted for sanity. We wish that every country, particularly in South Asia, got a similar leader with a broom (Kejriwal party’s election symbol) in his hands to wipe out corruption from society.

The Delhi election result is the first major setback to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party. It shows that Indians in general did not vote the BJP into power for its communal agenda but due to the promises of development. During the last eight months or so, the BJP has only emerged as a party hell bent on driving a wedge between different communities.

An American politician, Cory Booker, once said: “If you look at great human civilizations, from the Roman Empire to the Soviet Union, you will see that most do not fail simply due to external threats but because of internal weakness, corruption or a failure to manifest the values and ideas they espouse.”

Well done Kejriwal, please export your broom to every country particularly in your neighborhood. It is in great demand everywhere.
