This situation in Pakistan is getting worse due to the ongoing military offensive in North Waziristan and the influx of the displaced people from the tribal areas.

According to official statistics, more than 500,000 people have so far migrated from Waziristan to different parts of the country in the wake of the army operation. Most of the people who migrated from Waziristan are poor.

Several children have lost their lives due to lack of medical facilities in some camps set for these displaced people. Hot and sultry summer is adding to the woes of these poor people who are left with no choice.

Only few NGOs are working in the area with limited resources and instead of providing help to this internally displaced people (IDPs), our political parties are busy fighting each other.
