This is with reference to the article “No room for sentiments” (Feb. 21) by Abdulrahman Al-Rashed. I couldn’t agree more. The writer is absolutely correct that when it comes to politics and international relations, we have to adopt a realistic approach. It is the sentimental approach that causes huge losses.

Although, I think being Muslims we cannot completely separate politics and religion but the problem is we tend to have a limited understanding of our faith that affects our political decisions.
