This refers to the article “Rising rents push tenants to the wall” (May 23). Indeed, the soaring rents of apartments have become a big issue. Despite the fact that most expatriates are having problems because of the new labor laws which may terminate their stay in the Kingdom, owners of the buildings are refusing to compromise on the rent. Obviously, people in the low-income category will be unable to afford decent accommodation. I think the government should intervene and put a ceiling on rents.
