I have always admired Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The way he transformed his country into an economic success is highly commendable. However, of late he has been acting in a very strange manner. He appears to be very different from the past. Almost every week, he issues strange statements on various domestic and international issues.

He appears to have become overconfident due to his continuous successes on various fronts. Overconfidence is not at all good for an individual particularly if he/she holds key public office. Erdogan needs to tread carefully. He has many enemies within his own country and his overconfidence might work against him. Erdogan has put Turkey on the path of progress. He should think twice before saying anything or taking any action. Turkey needs his leadership. He is a source of inspiration to many around the Muslim world.
