It is heartening to note that the Kingdom is moving ahead in the field of cinema production. The Saudi Film Festival is a testimony to the progress made by the Kingdom in various spheres of life. Cinema is one way of channelizing one’s talents and broadening one’s horizon.

Saudi youths are very talented in this regard. One should log on to YouTube to get a glimpse of the Saudi talent. Most of the Saudi youths work with limited resources but the end product is of top quality. These youngsters should be encouraged to make good use of their talents. Instead of relying on the government, the private sector should come forward to promote talent in the country, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Unsung heroes

I read with great interest the report “Adversities fail to break the spirit of disabled man” (Feb. 22). Such cases should be highlighted as much as possible. These unsung heroes should serve as role models to those who lose all hopes in the face of difficulties. Life is a mix of ups and downs; it is not a bed of roses. We should not expect a smooth road. Instead of losing all hope and getting depressed, we should put our trust in God and continue our struggle.
