Sir, I have been using trains around the world and I have seen everywhere that the only way to board a train is when it is at a station and its doors are open.

What is the point of building a 20-kilometer wall to prevent “violators” getting into trains? Are these violators going to hang onto train windows when the doors are shut or are they going to ride on the roof of a train as we seen in some Third World countries? If none of this is going to happen, then I don’t know the logic of constructing a wall.

If the authorities really fear that some people would ride on train roof, they should rather do something else to ensure that this does not happen. If they can’t handle this, they should give the management responsibility to someone else rather than wasting government’s money. — Alwee Attas, Jeddah
