We appreciate US President Barack Obama over his statement clarifying to the world’s Muslims that the West is not at war with Islam. We respect his sentiments and bitterly oppose terrorists who are trying to promote animosity toward the West. Actually, it is not the war on terrorism that has created an impression about the West being at war with Islam and Muslims, it is the wrong policies of the various western powers and the negative and biased media coverage of the Muslim world that are responsible for this very perception.

We cannot forget the Obama’s predecessor Bush’s crusade’s reference in the aftermath of the 9/11. Secondly, it was not a Muslim who proposed the theory of a clash of civilizations. It is the product of a western brain. The very reason Muslims believe that they have been specifically targeted in this war on terror is due to the very fact that the western world appears to be up in arms against the basic tenets of Islam. Before criticizing Islam, they should realize that the majority of Muslims is against the ideology followed by the terrorists. It is the Muslim world, which is facing the wrath of these terrorists for not following them. The West should try to sincerely forge an alliance with Muslims to fight terrorists and should stop its undue criticism of Islam.
