Six Saudis were killed in a road accident and two injured when their cars had a head-on collision on a highway leading to Abha in the Aradiyat governorate in Makkah province. Town residents have been demanding the construction of a two-lane road to avoid accidents on the important highway.

Four Qatari vacationers were also killed and two of their friends injured in an accident on a desert road close to Ahsa on Sunday. The injured are being treated at Ahsa’s general hospital.

The accident took place while the Qatari youths made a trip deep into the desert near Ahsa. One of their cars hit a pile of sand and overturned. Immediately their friends took them to the express highway from where the Red Crescent carried them to a nearby hospital. Formalities are being completed to send the bodies to their native city in Qatar.
