A total of 139 Filipinos took the Philippine Professionals Organization (PPO) examination in Jeddah recently.

The PPO announced that 235 had registered for the examinations, also called the Special Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE), which is administered by the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC).

Yusoph T. Admain, past president of the PPO and current SPLBE chairman, said that 39 took the examination for architects, nine for certified public accountants, 30 for civil engineers, 29 for mechanical engineers, 31 for nurses, 19 for electricians, and 22 for master electricians.

The Philippine government started providing licensure examinations for its professional workers overseas in 1995.
