The Jeddah Municipal Council received Thursday morning a group Saudi citizens for the 13th forum, and listened to their complaints, recommendations and new ideas.

The participants were greeted by Jeddah Council member Amr Teeba, Anwar Al Sadat, assistant secretary-general for Engineering Committees and Council Adviser Waheeb Abed.

Teeba presented the participants with a brief on the work of the Council committees, and outlined the positive role of such meetings.

He added such are important points of connection between citizens and officials to listen to recommendations and ideas in the interest of the city of Jeddah.

Officials listened for the need for more markets to serve the public interest in the Jeddah regions like vegetables and fruits areas in the north and south of Jeddah, and linked with east and west through the provision of services that benefits all.

Others said a tourism police department needs to be reinstituted to supervise the establishments and marine beachfront. And they should have powers against violators.

One individual said public beaches needs to be monitored as well as side roads to make sure that garbage does not accumulate. He pointed out that there is a need for public gardens and parks in the city.

A discussion workshop was made between the council members and the male and female citizens. The latter demanded the holding of awareness workshops for a tidy city headed by environmental specialists concerned with cleanliness, water and sewage.

At the end of the forum the Council handed the men and women guestsforms to present their complaints, recommendation and ideas in an official way to be followed up.
