JEDDAH: The Saudi courts have reportedly received 149 cases made against government bodies since the commencement of the year. These cases were filed by citizens who wished to complain about these bodies for various reasons, including the deprivation of stipends, delaying of promotions and financial claims, and the issuing administrative decisions that have prevented employees from acquiring certain benefits.

Judicial sources said that the number of such cases increased this year, with courts in 45 cities witnessing cases filed by government employees against their departments. Cases included complaints from employees of the Ministry of Health for the withholding of stipends, such as the infections stipend as well as certain risk stipends for nurses in psychological hospitals.

Sources said that Riyadh ranked first in regards to the number of complaints made since the start of the year, with 22 cases, followed by Makkah with 11 cases, Abha and Jeezan with nine cases each, Taif with eight cases, Khameis Msheit and Skaka with six, Al-Nammas at five cases, Najran and Tabuk with four cases each, and Shanan, Rijal Al-Ma', Al-Dawadmi, Al-Rayoua and Bqiq with three cases each. Bareeda, Tabarja, Sarat Obaida, Baqaa', Mhayi, Asir and Bareq Al-Rass all had two cases each.
