Sixteen frustrated women graduates here have called on the Ministry of Civil Service to provide jobs for them.

They want the government to implement a royal decree issued three years ago that called for the training and employment of qualified women.

Nora Al-Bakri, spokesperson of an organization representing unemployed female graduates, said they launched a campaign to address the situation.

According to one estimate, there are 20,000 unemployed women graduates in the country.

Al-Bakri said meetings have taken place with Abdullah Al-Faisaly, director of the Civil Service Commission, who said that the problem is being studied.

Al-Bakri said that they also appealed to the department of education in Asir and met with the assistant director for school affairs, Mohammed Oraydan. She said Oraydan promised to submit the request to Minister of Education Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.

Meanwhile, many unemployed women graduates, tired of waiting and appealing to officials, are campaigning on Twitter to raise awareness of the issue.
