Saudi Arabian Scouts Association in coordination with Hail University organized a five-day camp in the Hail region from Sept. 18 to 23 to train scout leaders from all over the Kingdom in different fields. This event was held within the framework of the Saudi National Day celebrations and was attended by 2,000 scouts from across the Kingdom.

The camp offered a guidance program to scout leaders that aimed at making them capable of undertaking volunteering duties efficiently. The program offered five studies, each comprising key support activities and behaviors alongside associated standards and tools.

Mobarak Al-Dosari, media vommissioner, said the scouts studied many courses including self-development, first aid, leadership and home maintenance to help needy people. “Scouts are important members of our community and this program will enhance their capabilities to build a world of security and harmony,” he said.

He added that the scouts will get an opportunity to develop the abilities and knowledge essential to play an active role in the Scouts Association and in the communities.

Every year on the occasion of the National Day, the association organizes several projects and activities to boost the culture of volunteerism and to accomplish its core mission of promoting good character traits and behaviors among citizens.

The association celebrated the International Peace Day on Sept. 21 under the scout project titled, “Messenger of Peace,” that calls for peace and promotes dialogue as well as modern thinking. This project was launched in 2012 under the guardianship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
