A five-year-old boy was rescued after he fell into an artesian well in Tabarjal in the Al-Jouf region, sabq.org reported.

A Civil Defense team managed to rescue Abdullah from the 35-meter-deep and narrow well amid panic-stricken family members.

“We were visiting Abdullah’s grandfather in the area,” said Musallam Alsharari, Abdullah’s father. “My son went missing after evening prayers. We searched everywhere for him but couldn’t find him, prompting us to think he had been kidnapped."

“We eventually heard a sound coming from a nearby deserted and dark well,” he said. “We immediately called the Civil Defense.”

“The team sent down oxygen to my son, together with a rope, instructing him on how to hang onto the rope until he was pulled out,” he said.
