A 51-year-old Pakistani woman was murdered by unknown suspects in southern Riyadh on Sunday morning, electronic newspaper sabq.org reported.

Four mask-wearing men, led by a suspect of African descent who was seen carrying scotch tape, had attacked the victim and her 14-year-old son as they slept in their apartment in the densely populated Manfouha District. The four-member gang tied up the son in a separate room and then taped his mother’s eyes and mouth shut.

After nearly 15 minutes, one of the gang members returned to the victim’s son, removed the tape and told him in a Pakistani accent “go and see your mother,” after which the boy found his mother dead, the paper said.

Security officials confirmed that the victim had sustained bruises on her shoulders and other parts of her body, but that tests did not show any signs of sexual assault.

A manhunt for the criminals has been launched, while the motive behind the gruesome killing remains unclear.

The victim’s body has been sent to a morgue at the King Saud Medical Complex (KSMC), the paper said.
