The managing director of King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam has said that 60 percent of airport jobs are vacant and that existing airport staff are tasked with compensating for the shortage.

“We have signed an agreement with TNT, an international shipping company, to work at the airport’s sorting station,” said Khaled Al-Muziel.

“We have also signed six other agreements with express transport companies and we will allocate 60,000 sq. meters for shipping companies. There will be a total of 35 active airline companies at the airport after Philippine Airlines and Ras Al-Khaimah Airways begin operating from KFIA in December,” Al-Muziel added.
