A total of 9,005 female graduates of 14 technical training colleges are expected to enter the labor market in the coming years.

Indicating this, Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) Gov. Ali Ghafis said some of the best global training providers will oversee operation of new colleges to be built in a number of regions over the next four years. What is more, the organization will be responsible for financing and supervising these colleges in partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).

More than 30 technical colleges are currently training 18,123 students to equip them with skills commensurate with the needs of the local labor market, he added.

According to Ghafis, the organization plans to launch new development projects, which include a capacity building program to improve the performance of technical colleges in providing technical and vocational training programs. The programs also bring in global providers to work on enhancing skills training for employees.

He said 67 new colleges for men and women will be established over the next four years, in order to raise the capacity of incoming high school graduates and alumni to 150,000 students, as well as increase the effectiveness of the vocational training system in the Kingdom. He said the built-in training initiative will also be launched, which aims to integrate technical and electronic training methods.

International experts have been commissioned to conduct a comprehensive study in cooperation with the College of Technology in Al-Ahsa to measure overall performance in preparation for the launch of the capacity building project in March.
