JEDDAH: Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of the Governing Council of the Disabled Children’s Association and president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH), unveiled a huge mural of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman recently.
The large mural was prepared by disabled children, journalists, media personalities and artists under the title “Jeddah is different with Salman,” which is a token of love for the King from disabled children for taking care of them.
The mural contains 4,100 pictures of the King in various stages of his life, in addition to pictures documenting his achievements. The mural took almost four months to complete with the participation of around 300 people.
The ceremony took place at the Disabled Children’s Association, where Prince Sultan also inaugurated the new “King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Hall” at the association.
Prince Sultan confirmed in his speech that this opening is a tribute to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for his continued support to the Disabled Children’s Association.
He also said that association has become a landmark for organizing various programs and management of projects for disabled children, and now has 13 centers in the Kingdom, stressing that this achievement came because of the keenness of King Salman.
Prince Sultan also confirmed that King Salman last year donated SR50 million to the association for the welfare endowment, follow-up work, and to provide special services to take care of disabled children.
Also a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement took place between the Disabled Children’s Association and the Ahli Sports Club Association in giving donations for the support of disabled children by the association.
Dr. Zuhair Abdul Rahim Maimani, director of the Disabled Children’s Association, thanked Prince Sultan bin Salman for attending the ceremony and praised the efforts of the association that provides excellent care for children with disabilities.
He also thanked the management of the Ahli club for their initiative and signing the memorandum.
Supporting the cause, businessman Abdul Aziz Baghlaf donated SR200,000 to the association for disabled children.
