The Abha Carnival Festival which opened on Monday at Al-Mashad Street on Al-Yousef road, is drawing crowds with the attendance of 15 groups and 500 participants. The festival will run for a period of 15 days in the month of Shawwal.

The organizer of the festival, Dr. Moqbal Al-Moqbal, said the activities will begin from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily, noting that the shows will include performances by three cultural groups, a car show, a horse show, a show for children, a team of motorcycles and a carnival show, all over an area of more than 20,000 square meters. A laser show will also take place with more than 50 child participants.

Al-Moqbil said the site was prepared to receive more than four thousand visitors daily, to enjoy the carnival and watch the sound and light shows.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the branch of the General Authority of Tourism in the region and Secretary General of the Tourism and Festival Development Council Mohammed Al-Amra provided his support of the directives to develop tourist programs similar to the Abha Carnival, which attracts the public through unique events and generate new tourism areas in the region.
