Princess Al-Anood Philanthropic Foundation (PAPF) recently signed a cooperation agreement with Veolia Water. The water company will provide technical training for Saudi employees and develop water desalination plants at reduced costs for community members.

Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of PAPF’s executive committee, and Badr Ghawji, managing director of Veolia Water, signed the contract.

Veolia Water will build three water stations, offering one of them to the community free of charge, while the two other stations will be developed at a subsidized cost, according to Yousef Othman Al-Huzaim, secretary-general of the foundation.

“The foundation is designated to implement the will of Princess Anood Abdul Aziz bin Musaed bin Al-Jiluwi Al-Saud through her charitable foundation,” Al-Huzaim told Arab News.

Citing the verse from the Holy Qur’an, “We created from water every living thing,” he explained that the foundation has established three desalination plants in Yanbu, Al-Madinah and Makkah, which will benefit 20,000 citizens. In addition, the foundation dug 25 wells that will provide water for 8,000 citizens and distributes 3 million bottles of waters every year during the month of Ramdan.

Veolia Water Company was formed out of the long historical relations between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France and is committed to social responsibility initiatives that will benefit the Kingdom’s residents and citizens.
