Five years ago, 24-year-old Ahmad Murshid began to feel tired, had no appetite and had breathing difficulties. Worried about his condition, he went for some tests and discovered that he suffered from kidney failure. He then started regular hemodialysis sessions at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah.

The procedure was costly. But his fortunes were about to change. By chance, he met another person with the same condition, who referred him to the Al-Birr Society in Jeddah.

Murshid went to one of the society’s dialysis centers where he met officials and showed them his medical reports. The center conducted clinical and laboratory tests and decided that he should immediately undergo dialysis at Al-Shourafia Kidney Center.

The society included Murshid in its program, covering all his treatment costs and providing him with dialysis sessions in partnership with other charity organizations and philanthropists in the country.

The society provides his transportation to and from the center, a meal there, and monthly coupons to buy food and other necessities.

Murshid's stable health encouraged him to start a family of his own. He married six months ago and now hopes to have children. He thanked the Al-Birr Society for transforming his life.
