RIYADH: Upon the directives of the Saudi Health Minister, Khalid Al-Falih, Faisal Al-Zahrani has assumed his new role as the General Director of Media and Public Relations at the Ministry of Health recently.

Al-Zahrani, who will be the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, thanked the health minister for allowing him to take care of the media relations of the ministry.

Speaking to Arab News, he said that in line with the vision of the minister, he would do his best to maintain transparency in all activities of the ministry, and to keep the public aware of all developments in its various departments. Such transparency, he stressed, would build a much better bridge of trust between the ministry and the public.

In cooperation with all of the officials in the 20 health regions of the Kingdom, he said that he would maintain a strong and effective line of communication between the ministry, residents and citizens of the country with the cooperation of all concerned public and private parties. He also pledged his full cooperation in implementing the Strategic Plan of the ministry, in order to offer the best healthcare services to the people.

Previously, Al-Zahrani was the president of the International Public Relations Association’s Gulf Chapter from 2007 to 2015, and has also served as the director of exhibitions and public relations for Saudi Aramco.

Al-Zahrani, who holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, has been the director of engineering and maintenance departments in various Saudi Aramco industrial facilities, and has also served as assistant vice president and senior vice president of the gas operations in Aramco.
