JEDDAH: Saudi engineer Abdullah Hijazi says a pothole in a side street led him to create a mobile app Hufra. This will be available in more than four continents, after receiving great appreciation in Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Hijazi lost one of his closest friends due to one of these potholes and seriously started thinking about an application that will warn people of any potholes ahead while driving.

Hufra draws its strength from a social network that aims to make streets safer, cleaner and better, in addition to monitoring streets and alerting users about impending dangers.
