The Jeddah’s Health Affairs has recently approved the opening of a medical center to serve the residents of the Eastern Highway in Jeddah, with a capacity of 1,000 beds.

The center will be built over an area of 1 million sq. meters.

Director Sami Badawood made the announcement during a meeting with Jeddah health officials, as well as directors and employees, at the Jeddah Health Affair Directorate.

Badawood appreciated the distinctive role played by the Ministry of Health in caring for the guests of the Grand Mosque.

He also urged employees working at King Abdulaziz International Port and the Jeddah Islamic Port to continue in their efforts to provide pilgrims with the necessary medical services.

In another development, the Health Affairs will also launch a hospital in Sulaimaniah District, east of Jeddah, with a capacity of 3,000 beds. The hospital has been designed as a state-of-the-art infrastructure, spanning 84,000 sq. meters, at an estimated cost of SR265 million.

The hospital will encompass four floors, with outpatient clinics on the first two floors and 48 clinics. It will encompass medical specialties, including gynecology, dentistry, cardiology, oncology and ENT (ear, throat and nose), as well as a dialysis unit with 60 beds.
