RIYADH: A Sri Lankan national, who works as a cleaner in the Kingdom, was commended and rewarded by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) for returning a bag containing gold to its owner.

“Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of SCTNH, instructed the commission’s branch in Najran to thank the owner of a furnished apartment in Najran and reward the cleaning worker, a Sri Lankan national, in recognition of his honesty for returning a bag containing gold to its owner,” an SCTNH spokesman said here on Sunday.

“The Najran branch followed up by honoring this sincere worker,” he added.

A visitor to the city who stayed in a furnished apartment there had forgotten the bag while checking out of his accommodation and the cleaning staff was honest enough to inform the owner, who had returned to Makkah.

He came back to take his bag and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the owner of the furnished apartment and the cleaning worker for his honesty.

Applauding his honesty, SCTNH, which is committed to ensure quality services to the visitors, honored the cleaning worker.

Tourism festivals are being held in different parts of the Kingdom during the ongoing summer school break featuring a large number of events, including youth, cultural, folklore, heritage, sports, and entertainment events and activities that are being visited by a huge number of people. The events are aimed to boost tourism and highlight the Kingdom’s cultural diversity as a country rich in scenic beauty and heritage, in addition to introducing both the citizens and expatriates to the Kingdom’s history and culture.
