RIYADH: The Ministry of Education signed a memorandum of understanding with a philanthropic family for setting up an award for creativity among students in the Madinah region.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman with the education director of the region, Nasir bin Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim, and Faisal bin Omar Al-Nasir signing on behalf of the donor family.

Appreciating the generosity of the family of the late Maj. Gen. Omar Al-Nasser, the governor said that such donations are not new among Saudi philanthropists who are always willing to contribute to a worthy cause.

The sons have come forward to set up this award in memory of their late father, the governor said, pointing out that this great gesture will help boost education in the region by promoting competitiveness among students to reach higher levels.

Al-Nasser thanked the governor for his great contribution to the region. He also thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Salman for his untiring efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Al-Abdulkarim said that this is a timely assistance from the sons of the late Omar Al-Nasser to develop a spirit of creativity among students in the region.
