Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) said that the amount for trainees’ excellence awards has reached more than SR1 million.

He disclosed this while providing details about the “Foundation Award for Academic Excellence” on Monday.

Approved by Ali Al-Ghafees, the governor of TVTC, the Foundation Awards for Academic Excellence are given to outstanding students in technical and vocational area of the TVTC colleges, technical institutions and industrial institutes.

Almost 388 male students and 107 female students of technical colleges and 60 students from secondary industrial institutes have qualified for the award for 2014, he said.

Each student will receive a cash award of SR2,000, taking the total amount of the academic excellence awards to SR1,050,000.

The award will be accompanied by a certificate of appreciation.

Al-Zahrani congratulated the outstanding trainees who achieved their goals and wished them success in their future endeavors.

He said the awards are jointly supervised by the management of the trainees’ institutions and the financial department of the TVTC.
