The Directorate General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province has launched a coronavirus awareness campaign in various malls under the title “Hand in hand.. We protect ourselves.” Such campaigns will also be launched in cities in other provinces.

The directorate prepared educational programs including video and audio materials, brochures and publications on coronavirus.

The head of media relations and health awareness at the directorate, Khalid Al-Osaimi, said that the campaign aims to provide mall visitors with the required information and guidance to do their part in the fight against the virus. The drive is being carried out by more than 200 people in collaboration with a number of voluntary agencies in the community service field.

Al-Osaimi said: “The campaign is carried out in the shopping malls of Alkhobar, Dammam, Qatif, Jubail, Ras Tanurah and Abqaiq in order to encourage the community to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, and to follow good health habits such as frequently washing hands with soap and water, using hand sanitizer and avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth.
