RIYADH: A Saudi woman waiting to board an Air India flight for Riyadh at the Mumbai airport in India ended up in the maternity ward of a hospital in that city and delivered a baby boy.

Doctors stationed at the airport responded to the distress call on Monday night after the woman went into labor.

A passenger, Salamat Shah, traveling on the same flight, said: “I heard some commotion near the toilet at the airport. When I went there, I was told that a woman had gone into labor.”

According to reports, the 22-year-old woman named Haya Saud Alhagbani went into labor delivered a baby boy. Both mother and the baby are fine, said sources.

The mother and the baby are in the Seven Hills Hospital in the Andheri area of Mumbai. Haya was traveling to Riyadh with her mother, brother and sister.
