RIYADH: Schools in Baha have started making up for class suspensions which were ordered to ensure students’ safety due to the recent inclement weather in the region.

Director of Education Ali Khairan said that making up for lost hours is in line with the directives of Minister of Education Ali Al-Issa.

He said that since the classes in Makhwa were suspended on Wednesday last week, the students should go to school next Wednesday.

Earlier, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) issued an alert for rains and thunderstorms in different regions including Baha. The education directorate said citizens should follow safety guidelines issued by the Civil Defense.

Osman Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, school supervisor, said that school officials and teachers had sought the assistance of school authorities for guidance on the matter.
