The barbeque contest is one of the major attractions for families visiting the ongoing Najran Tourism Festival taking place at the King Fahd Park in Ghaba Saqam in the center of Najran.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival Khaled Al-Awad said, “The committee has launched a number of programs during the past few days including a barbeque which is proving to be the most popular activity. Contesting parties are supplied with barbeque kits and they have to display their grilling skills in a specific period of time following which the best among them is selected and prizes given away.”

He added that there are daily competitions such as traditional coffee making and the preparation of local dishes which start in the afternoon and continue until the late evening. Dishes include Raqsh, Wafad and Homaisah, Al-Watan daily reported.

There are also competitions for making traditional children’s wear with which the organizing committee aims to familiarize the visitors and introduce them to the dressing style of previous times.
