JEDDAH: Customs authorities at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah foiled an attempt to smuggle cocaine weighing 926.9 grams, a senior customs officer said.
The seized cocaine was hidden in the intestines of the suspect arriving at the airport, said Faisal Al-Dabbagh, director general of the airport customs.
When the customs inspector suspected one of the passengers, he was immediately taken for an X-ray scan, which led to the discovery of 83 small-sized capsules of cocaine hidden in his intestines.
The seized cocaine and the passenger were handed to the relevant authorities for further action, he said.
