Customs officials have thwarted attempts to smuggle 25 hunting falcons, leopard cubs and lion cubs out of the Kingdom in three separate attempts.

Al-Bathaa Customs Director-General Eid Al-Inizi said one customs supervisor found 25 hunting falcons in the boot of a car. The birds were seized and necessary procedures were taken against the perpetrator.

In another incident, Al-Riqei customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle leopard cubs out of the Kingdom. The smuggler hid the cubs in a cage made of palm leaves.

Customs officers thwarted attempts to smuggle two lion cubs into the Kingdom. Al-Haditha Customs found the lion cubs in a catering car.
