The Bangladesh International School of Jeddah’s English section (BISJ-ES) has announced a 100-percent passing rate in this year’s IGCSE and A-Level examinations.

Around 60 of students who sat the IGCSE exams got straight A and A* grades, while 23 percent of students scored a A* and A grades at A-Level.

“The fact that BISJ-ES excelled this year in both categories is proof of the sincerity and devotion of students, teachers, parents and school management toward ensuring world-class standards,” said Rumi Sayeed, BISJ-ES media coordinator.

Students Arman Mohammed Chowdhury, Mohammed Tanvir Mahtab, Nabil Burhan Uddin and Amal scored eight A* in the IGCSE examinations, while Afnan Hossan Ayshi, Raha Mony, Assem, Debashish Saha, Tahsin Bhuiyan scored seven A* and Nahid Islam, Fahim Anwar Mojumder, Farzana, Huda Mohammed Mustafa, Najuma Bibi Mohammed Shafique, Sumaiya Islam and Sayem got six A*.

Maria Sayeed, Abdullah Mohammed Niyas, Mathiesha Pashan Gunasena, Tasneem Mohammed Faridul Alam got three A* and one A in their A-Level examinations.

Kazi Abdullah Al-Fuad and Minar Mahmood got 4 As and Saima Habia scored 1A* and 3 A-grades in the same qualification.

“We had zero fails,” he said.

Kazi Bashir, chairman of the school’s governing board, conveyed his heartfelt pride to students, parents and teachers for their hard work.

Mohammed Abdul Kaium, acting principal of the school, said that students outdid themselves compared to last year and hoped the upward improvement would continue into the future.

“Performance mostly depends on teaching quality, parent cooperation and time management,” he said.

Kaium thanked staff and management for their support and cooperation.
