The Higher Institution of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice launched its first publication at Umm Al-Qura University recently.

The book entitled “Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, and its Legal Rules” explains the culture of “Alhasba” (culture of virtue) promoting virtues and good deeds to please God.

The book is written by Ala Eddin AlZaki who was also present on the occasion along with Ahmed Alferi the dean of the university, employees of Haia and others.

Alferi stressed that the launch of the book at the university will help in spreading the culture of the promotion of virtue and the prevention of vice.

He said that Umm Al-Qura University serves as a role model for other universities in its application of Islamic law.

He said that under the guidance of Minister of Higher Education Khalid Al-Anqari and Bakri Asas, president of the university, the book will help in instilling the culture of virtue and prevention of vice in the youth.

The book launch is the university’s first project to implement the spread of good deeds among students and the youth.

AlZaki mentioned in his speech the contents of his book which can help to spread the legal rules of virtue.

Saleh Al-Zahrani, head of the Alhasbah Department, also pointed out the importance of the promotion of virtue and the prevention of vice, their mention in the book and their importance in making life changing decisions.

He pointed out that the author had brought about a new point of reference for students regarding the culture of promotion of virtue and the prevention of vice.
