Minister of Health Mohammed bin Ali Alhayazie has commended the government’s concern about health care in the Kingdom, following the judicious allocations in a new budget presented Thursday, saying it reflects the priority given to public health.

The MoH media department said Saturday that the minister lauded the great concern shown by the government for the health services and provision of all levels of health care to the citizens by allocating SR160 billion to the health sector.

Despite steady fall in oil prices, the government has not reduced spending on schemes and projects for public welfare, but rather has unveiled the largest budget in its history, which experts say will play a vital role in supporting the welfare economy of the Kingdom.

Commenting on the budget, Alhayazie underscored that such generous support will be reflected positively on the performance of the health facilities and will contribute to providing the required health services and meeting the citizens' needs.

"The new budget embodies the permanent care and support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for the provision of decent means of living for the Saudi citizen, as well as for preserving the resources and capabilities of this generous Kingdom," the minister said.

The minister pointed out that the budget includes many important projects for serving the valued citizens of the country.

He said in a statement that the ministry will spare no effort to put into effect the directives of the king to provide the best health services.
