Senior government officials involved with the inspection campaign in the Kingdom have advised the business community to adhere to rules of employment and participate in nation building keeping in mind the future of Saudi youth.

Director of Jeddah Police Maj. Gen. Abdullah Mohammed Qaitani and Director of Labor Office Abdul Monem Shahri, speaking at a conference in the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) on Monday, urged the business community to play an effective role in the interest of the nation besides keeping in mind the fast growing employment market in the Kingdom.

They made it clear that the authorities were serious about implementing the action plan against undocumented workers in the private sector labor market in Jeddah.

They urged the business community to look for Saudi youth who can match the job requirements. They also urged the community to fill the vacancies created by the exit of illegal expatriate workers with Saudi youth to achieve the national goals and adhere to the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah.

Both officials noted that the private sector had a vital role to play to achieve the national goals and that they expected full cooperation from them.

The officials said their responsibilities were not confined merely to employment of nationals, but also in reforms and reorganization of the labor market in such a way that both parties can enjoy their rights properly.

The police chief responded to queries from participants regarding the raids, mechanism of inspection and procedures to remove apprehension on the job status verification system.

The labor office director explained the initiatives and incentives introduced to recruit Saudi youth in the private sector.

The meeting was inaugurated by Mohiuddin bin Yahya, assistant secretary general of the JCCI and Mohammed Saeed Derar of the JCCI consultant group. The meeting was attended by more than 200 businessmen and their representatives, a statement issued by the JCCI on Tuesday said.
