ABHA: A Saudi businessman has said that he is ready to sponsor four permanent markets for productive families in all parts of Jeddah, in coordination with the Jeddah municipality.
His announcement came during the three-day National Ramadan Exhibition for Productive Families, which was organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce under the patronage of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. More than 7,000 people visited the exhibition, held at a hotel here.
The businessman, Yousef Al-Ahmadi, said during the exhibition that the municipality would have to allocate 2,000 to 3,000 square meters of land at Jeddah public gardens, while he would sponsor implementation and maintenance over the next five years. He said this initiative would help 5,000 productive families in Jeddah.
During the exhibition, productive families presented a variety of Hijazi handmade products, including clothing items, bed sheets and linens, jewelry, perfumes, food and sweets.
Prince Khaled toured the exhibition and expressed his pleasure over the quality of products lined up at the exhibition.
Legal adviser Ahmed Al-Hemdan hailed Prince Khaled’s support for the productive families, noting that this sector enjoys great support from both official and private levels, while the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce has worked hard to help productive families market their products.
Al-Hemdan said he hopes the exhibition will achieve its main goal of strengthening the “Made in Saudi Arabia” concept.
Adel Abdulshakoor, president of X.S. Conferences and Exhibitions, said the exhibition was an excellent opportunity for these families to market and promote their products.
